How free lift tickets for kids work in Italy

Born 2019 or later

Almost all major resorts go by birth year. Kids born in 2019 or later usually ski free in the 2026/27 season, even at age 7.

One child per adult

Usually one adult paying full price gets exactly one free lift ticket. With two little ones, you need two paying adults.

Buy at the same time

The free ticket usually only applies when the adult buys the same lift ticket for the same length at the same time. In the Dolomiti Superski, you get 50 percent off without buying at the same time.

ID and helmet

You'll need your child's ID at the ticket office. And in Italy, helmets are mandatory for kids.

My tip: check the birth year. Kids born in 2019 still ski free in South Tyrol and Trentino this season, even at age 7. That hardly happens anywhere else.
